March Diary '12

The Ranfurly Art Deco Market Day was a most enjoyable event. Brown Street Bespoke’s stall was in a lovely sunny position close to the live music and Best Dressed Parade. I received lots of positive feedback and met many interesting people. I am already planning for next year- Art Deco costumes all around!

I love this 1950’s tablecloth- a curious mix of a modernist geometric pattern and representational flowers. This picture is archived on my Vintage Textiles page.

  1. Hi! I am an Art Deco lover, live in an Art Deco house – and try and source fittings if I can. Do you know if there are any Art Deco markets, fairs in the Horowhenua, Kapiti, Welly’s, Manuwatu? I feel like I’m missing out! Thanks Olivia

    1. Hi, I don’t know of other Art Deco events. But, I think a trip to Ranfurly for the Annual Art Deco weekend would be a great excuse to visit the Maniototo and put on all your Art Deco finery!Amanda
